7 Ways to Create Blessed Girl Syndrome

How many of us know how it feels to receive false promises? To go to someone and remind them of the things they said they’d do only to be further gaslit and disappointed? Guess Who you will never ever have to deal with those things with because according to Titus 1:2, Hebrews 6:19, and Numbers 23:19 He simply cannot lie.

God is the epitome of “Man of His word.” God IS His Word and it can never return void (Isaiah 55:11). Imagine reminding your Father of the promises He made you and instead of deflecting, gaslighting, or blatantly lying, He simply says “so be it.” That’s exactly what He wants us to do, to hide His WORD in our HEARTS. This doesn’t mean we have to memorize every scripture but that we truly have a desire to get to know Him through His word which ultimately is Him, the epitome of integrity.

The more we study His word, the more He opens up to us and fills us with revelation and coats us in favor. When we begin to embody His word, allowing the Holy Spirit to impress on our hearts, we open the door to His favor. When we have His favor we don’t have to rely on the ever fleeting “luck” of this world. Allow me to give you 7 ways to create BLESSED Girl Syndrome:

1. Read your Bible with a mindset of curiosity

When I read my Bible, I read it with a curious mind. I read each book as if I’m traveling to a new place for the first time. I am put in awe at times when I observe how God interacts with each of His children. Recently, I read through the book of Jonah and I was surprised by the way God handled Jonah’s pettiness. Jonah was charged BY GOD to go into Nineveh, a country with pagan practices, and invite them to repent. Jonah was so petty that he fled into another city, running away from God’s call and his assignment simply because he didn’t want to see his haters prosper. The account is actually very comical, definitely go and read through it for yourself. What surprised me the most was the mercy of God on both the Ninevites and Jonah and His patience through Jonah’s stubbornness. It really gave me a renewed admiration for our Father.

2. Find and study scriptures that relate to your life

It blows my mind how relatable the Bible is. There is literally nothing new under the sun. In fact did you know that this saying came from the Bible? Go and read Ecclesiastes 1:9. When we read the accounts of the people in the Bible that most relate to our particular situations or seasons in life, it makes God’s word real for us which makes it easier to believe His promises for us. Let’s use the book of Jonah as an example again. How many of us have grappled with doing the right thing because we knew the person or people on the other end didn’t deserve it? Maybe they were dishonorable to you. Maybe for a second you seriously considered repaying them with the same energy they dispensed. Perhaps you didn’t just consider, you went ahead and did it. The good news is God’s grace and mercy is the same today as it was back then. Reading accounts of the Bible that most closely mirror our own lives and situations allows us to develop an intimacy with God and discover His purpose for our lives and our true identity (2 Timothy 1:9).

3. Ask God to reveal Himself to you

The fact of the matter is that you are already blessed simply because of who your Father is. You are blessed because your Abba Daddy is literally the King of Kings which means you were born into royalty with your brother Jesus THEE Christ (1 Peter 2:9). You are blessed because it’s in your DNA to be. This may seem far fetched to those like myself who were raised humbly (i.e. poor). The devil is in fact a liar. The devil is the king of deception and has been robbing us blind from the beginning of time because his strength was in our ignorance (Hosea 4:6). Notice how I said ‘was’ because today you have been enlightened. Jesus came that we would be FREE and enjoy an abundant life (read John 10 in its entirety). You see, it’s in the nature of the devil to lie, cheat, steal and kill but Jesus gave us the power to put him under our feet (Luke 10:19). You are blessed because your Father said so. It’s really hard to believe I know, that’s why I implore you to ask for an encounter with the Lord. Ask God to reveal Himself to you, seek Him consistently and with intention and He will do just that. Matthew 6:33 says that as we seek the kingdom, all of our needs will be provided for. He is Jehovah Jireh, our Provider and He loves us.

4. Write decrees for your life

Do you know the difference between a decree and an affirmation? Let’s start with the definitions:

Affirm – to state as a fact; assert strongly and publicly. Decree – an official order issued by a legal authority. Declare – say something in a solemn and emphatic manner. When you DECLARE a DECREE you are placing emphasis on a legally binding order. Scriptures are the law of the spiritual realm. I’m not against affirmations, they can be useful too. However, when you affirm something, you are doing it in your own strength. You’re operating in the soulish realm which is shallow because it depends on our own level of understanding. When you declare a decree you are separating your soul and spirit and coming into agreement with God’s will (Hebrews 4:12). The more you declare decrees over your life and submit to the will of God, the stronger your spirit gets. You begin to operate in the Holy Spirit and are backed by Jesus and all of the heavens (Job 22:21-30). Angels move at the reciting of His word (Psalm 103:20).

5. Faith, Faith, FAITH

The difference between the new age “manifest” culture and the Word of God is that He wants to give us the desires of our hearts with no added sorrow (Proverb 10:22). When you are manifesting a thing you’re doing it in your own strength and opening yourself up to unclean spirits in the process (Revelation 18:2, Matthew 12:43-45). Because God gave us free will and a portion of His Spirit (Genesis 2:7, Galatians 5:13), it is more than possible to bring a spiritual concept into the natural but we must remember the Luke 14:28 principle of counting the cost before the build. It’s easy to manifest in your own will but a whole lot harder to keep those things without proper wisdom and stewardship. Allow God, who is omniscient, to order your steps and align you with the specified blessings for the season you are in (Proverb 16:9). Nonetheless it is impossible to do any of this without faith. Faith is the substance of the things you are hoping for, and when you walk in stubborn faith in God it pleases Him and puts you on the fast track for the blessed life (Hebrews chapter 11).

6. Rejoice and rest in gratitude

Holy Spirit gave fresh revelation when it comes to the phrase “praise the Lord, confuse the enemy.” 2 Chronicles 20:22 says that when we praise our Father The Almighty, our enemies are ambushed. Isaiah 49:25 says He contends with those who contend with us. Praise God that we do not have to do it alone! I thank God as someone who has felt so alone in life and bared the weight of things that never belonged to me that with Him I am safe, with Him I never have to do things in my own strength, with Him the battle is won and I don’t have to lift a finger but lend my voice to praise His mighty name! Talk about a soft life, princess treatment, sitting pretty and all of the above. He watches over His word to perform, put Him in remembrance and rejoice in advance. Receive it by faith and be grateful for what He’s already done in your life. The process can be brutal as we’re moving forward by faith but Galatians 6:9 says if you hold out you will receive!

7. Allow life to court you

Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6) and my prayer for you is that you receive true courtship by Him. When you do life with God you experience a life of ease, anxiety is under your feet (Matthew 6:25-34). He orders your steps, He aligns you with every good thing (Jeremiah 29:11). With Him you are free to go to work on what’s in front of you and have peace knowing every good thing is on it’s way (Romans 8:28). He will give you the assignment all you have to do is complete it and He will give you providence in the process. Trust Him, He is worthy.
